A 2016 post as promised! Like I said in the previous post a lot of really great things happened in 2016 but also a lot of struggles!
We can start with the good, because honestly who ever chooses the bad news first! More adventures continued, I think it's really important to make time for yourself and your friends to do fun stuff...regardless if it is free! My friends and I are street art junkies! We will literally drive around town looking for it wherever we go, and we're those people that will stalk social media for cool places to see, don't judge we all do it...yes even you!
My last semester of my senior year of college had finally arrived...and it was probably the death of me! I had this amazing internship at the Ronald McDonald House in San Diego twice a week that was so fulfilling and such a great opportunity to learn! Check out the link if you want to know more about what they do! I highly suggest volunteering if you get the chance!
And although I was a walking zombie 95% of the time I wouldn't have traded that last semester for anything! So the big news awaits! I did graduate college, with honors, I worked my rear end off...and sacrificed a lot to get there but I will say that was probably one of my proudest accomplishments! Shout out to my family for keeping me semi sane, and the friends I met along the way...you all know who you are...I quite literally couldn't have done any of it without you all!
My graduation present to myself was...drumroll please....Beyonce Tickets!!!!! That was honestly...such a surreal experience...she is hands down one of the best performers I've seen, and yes I'm saying that even though I saw NSYNC live...in concert...with Betty No Good trying to throw her thong on stage...no not the sandals Grandma:) It was a lot for my 7 year old self to see okay?
Then as if seeing Beyonce wasn't enough to knock my pants off...Allie P stuck again, and surprised her other friend and I with ADELE tickets!!! Yes Adele...sold out shows at the Staples Center in like 10 minutes Adele...it was a shock of a life time...and yes some of you may be asking what do you do at an Adele concert? How do you act? Yea I asked those same questions...but you know what! We dressed up...and then guess what...we got popcorn, nachos and Holly got a beer..so don't tell us we're not living our best lives!
I also got a big girl job...yep a 40 hour work week...paid vacation days...type of job...and traded my sunny, sandy beaches...for snow packed mountains...and I moved to Utah! More on that later...because it wasn't easy!

So moving right along...quite literally. Shall we take the time to head over to Utah? A little before I graduated college, I started the ominous job search...in a different state, it was very daunting, really stressful and depressing. I was struggling to get interviews, and even though I was qualified for the positions I was applying for, the opportunities didn't come...partially because I was out of state at the time. So I decided to jump, not quite knowing exactly where I was going to land, but I booked a hotel in Provo, for 5 days, took the time off work, and just said alright this is happening...I contacted a couple of companies that had showed interest and set up interviews for myself...yes myself...and then an unexpected call came. A company wanted to interview me! It sounded promising, and so we set up a time for when I was going to be in town, it was happening! The interviews I had lined up, went really well and both companies seemed to really like me! Then came the awful waiting game...it was a very stressful 3 weeks full of lots of emotional break downs, tears in the shower, and sleepless nights. I prayed and prayed that this would work out...and if you can guess...it did! I got a call offering me a position working for an insurance company in Salt Lake, and less than two weeks later I got an apartment and started working! It wasn't easy, at all...there were times I wanted to give up and just stay in San Diego, my friends were there, my family was there, and my life that I had built was there, but I really felt and still feel like I should be here! It hasn't been easy being on my own, by any means, but I've met the most amazing people here, had some awesome experiences (keep an eye out for another blog post) and had some struggles that I've had to buck up and put my big girl panties on and deal with on my own!
